OVERVIEW
Little Rock Allergy & Asthma Clinical Research Center specializes in conducting clinical trials in the areas of adult and pediatric allergy, asthma, COPD, sinusitis, common cold, influenza, urticaria, angioedema, stinging insect allergy, smoking cessation, adult and pediatric vaccines, atopic dermatitis, otitis media, acute and chronic bronchitis, and other allergy and respiratory problems.

OUR STAFF
Our Medical Director, Karl V. Sitz, M.D., F.A.C.P., devotes 50% of his time to the Clinical Research Center. He is board certified in allergy and immunology and internal medicine. Our Research Manager/Coordinator, Mindy DeMarco, RN, BSN, CCRP, has coordinated over 100 clinical trials and devotes full time effort towards clinical research. Michelle Gray, LPN, CCRP is also a full time coordinator and has fifteen years experience working with allergy and asthma patients. Our sub-investigators are five full–time physicians who are board certified in allergy and immunology and pediatrics.

  • Evaluate and implement the latest in technology to keep the Clinical Research Center “state of the art”
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with study sponsors and monitoring groups
  • Meet and/or exceed sponsor enrollment expectations
  • Cultivate a reputation of excellence in clinical trials performance

OUR FACILITIES
Our main office is in Little Rock but we also have five satellite clinics located throughout the state. As part of our research center we have:

  • Separate research waiting area with DVD, VCR and internet connection
  • Dedicated research exam room and equipment
  • Spacious coordinators office and monitoring areas with telephone, fax and copier access

OUR ON-SITE EQUIPMENT CAPABILITIES

  • Clinasyst clinical trials database and management software
  • Clinical database of over 11,000 new and follow up patients annually
  • Remote data entry and transmission capabilities through a DSL line
  • Research web site with screening page database for volunteers
  • Utilization of a central IRB
  • Welch-Allen Schiller Cardio Vit AT-10 digital ECG and spirometer with electronic data and storage capabilities
  • Rhinoscopy

  • Locked cabinets for drug and document storage
  • Phlebotomy, centrifuge and specimen preparation
  • Allergy skin testing : prick and intradermal
  • Emergency equipment
  • Injection, inhaled and oral medication therapies
